Active learning is a model of instruction that focuses the responsibility of learning on learners thus making them lifelong learners. Active learners work collaboratively, discuss materials while role-playing, debate, engage in case study, take part in cooperative learning, or produce short written exercises, etc.

Some examples of "active learning" activities include:

  • Class discussions
  • Think-pair-share activities
  • Collaborative learning groups
  • Student debates
  • Quality Circle Time
Democracy and Discipline

At SCAD International  School, we believe in creating an open environment for students to grow and evolve in.

Discipline, while necessary, is on the basis of self-realization rather than outside imposition.   While every effort is focused on creating an unfettered environment, students are continuously taught to be aware that actions have consequences and freedom always comes with responsibility.
