NURSURY

The Nursery curriculum focuses on developing essential Pre-Math, Pre-Writing, cognitive and language skills. Learners listen to and sing nursery rhymes and songs, communicate with others in 1 to 1 conversation, respond to simple directions and use familiar words to express what they want. They gradually develop a vocabulary focused on objects and persons known to them. They enjoy listening to and joining in with stories and poems. They show interest in printed illustrations in books and begin to become aware of the way stories are structured. Their phonic awareness grows to the level that they can enjoy rhyming and rhythmic activities and distinguish one sound from another. They draw and paint, sometimes giving meaning to their scribbles and engage in activities requiring hand-eye coordination. As more complex thinking skills develop, they begin to link cause and effect and to use talk in pretend situations. The thematic conceptual integrated learning is cultivated and it runs in everything they do. Co-curricular activities are a part of the school hours and each day is balanced through the ‘mind-body-soul’ philosophy.

PRIMARY SCHOOL

Our programme focuses on creating independent learners who take responsibility for their own learning. Developing research skills in learners and allowing them to work in groups help them to tackle more complex problems than they could on their own and develop new approaches to resolve a problem. They plan for class assemblies on their own, do a lot of group work that builds skills like leadership, collaboration and team work.

Getting them to experiment and investigate on their own helps them to become more independent and confident, develop their planning and observation skills, realize their mistakes and rectify them by repeating the experiment.

Through the Life Skills programme we help to instill values of perseverance, self-discipline, compassion, and get them to express their inner thoughts on various situations and events that occur in their lives.

We believe that co-curricular activities are equally important in developing the all round personality of the learner. The co-curricular programme in our school offers a platform to help hone the talents of young minds and gives them an opportunity to develop their specialized skills
